Easter Chick and Lamb Cards

Hello!  Today I have some Easter cards to share with you!  Can you believe Easter is less than a month away?  Sure is early this year!!

These cards were fun to make!  I used Watercolor Paper for the backgrounds behind the chick and lamb, and Shimmery White Card Stock for the chick and lamb.  Both great options for water coloring, which really is a big trend right now -- and with good reason, since it is so fun to do!!!  A little hard to tell on the lamb card, but for both the lamb and chick, I water colored with markers to get a result almost like the borderless watercoloring technique, though obviously you can still see the borders on my images . . . so not quite sure what to call this! (Anyway, my technique in a nutshell:  I inked up the stamp using markers, stamped, then used the ink from the edges, plus a little extra, to watercolor the image).

The card base for both cards is Watermelon Wonder, and I used a strip of patterned paper from the Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper along the bottom of each.  The die cut layer underneath the Watercolor Paper is Mossy Meadow Card Stock, and the cuts were made using the Lots of Labels Framelits dies.  Both cards also have a stamped-in-Watermelon-Wonder, flourish-y line (yes, I guess that's the technical term!  ;)  ) from the Tin of Cards stamp set above the ribbon.

The chick is from the wonderful Sale-a-Bration set, Honeycomb Happiness (and this is the last month of Sale-a-Bration, so make sure you've gotten all the free products you want!  You can earn one Sale-a-Bration item free for every $50 you spend (before tax and shipping)).  The flowers on the chick card are stamped in Pink Pirouette ink with the Petite Petals stamp set and cropped with the Petite Petals Punch (you can get the stamp set and punch in a bundle and save 15%!  Here's the link to see that in my online store).  The greeting is from the Circle of Spring stamp set.  The ribbon is Wild Wasabi Seam Binding.

For this card, the lamb and greeting are both from the Easter Lamb stamp.  The flowers are from the Circle of Spring stamp set (stamped in Hello Honey and colored using the ink from the stamped border), and die cut with the little flower die from the Wonderful Wreath Framelits.   The ribbon is Whisper White Seam Binding Ribbon.

I did a simple but sweet coordinating design for inside the cards as well:

The heart border is from the Birthday Blooms stamp set, flourish-y line from Tin of Cards again just in Mossy Meadow this time, and the little flower is made with the image from Circle of Spring and cut with the Wonderful Wreath Framelits flower die.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog!
