First Holiday Catalog Project -- Frightful Wreath!

Hi!  Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!  Have you had a chance to check out the new Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog yet?  I have my first project from the new catalog products to share with you.  The Frightful Wreath is one of three holiday-themed kits in the catalog, and comes together so easily (though I'm a beading novice, so the spider did take me a little time and thought to get together . . . very happy with how it turned out though!)

Here's my finished wreath:

And, here's a close up of the spider:

If you haven't looked through the Holiday Catalog yet, be sure to check it out here.  You also can shop for items from the catalog in my online store here.

Thanks for stopping by!

Catalog Favorites in 3D

As part of my Catalog Favorites class on Sunday, I also offered a choice from a couple of 3D projects.

First is a box from page 11 of the Annual Catalog:

The box is one of the Decorative Window Gift Boxes, with the sentiment from the Chalk Talk set stamped on the window using White StazOn Ink.  There's a belly band around the box, made from Typeset DSP, with a 2-1/2 Circle Punch piece cut out, and strips of Wild Wasabi framing it.  The Spiral Flower Die and flower from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack were used to create the flowers.  A bow of Crochet Trim, dyed using Pistachio Pudding Ink peeks out from under the spiral flower.

The other 3D project, which actually turned out to be the more popular of the choices, is this Celebrate a Sweet birthday box from page 59:

The box is Bermuda Bay Card Stock, die cut using the new Fry Box die, then embossed with the new Large Polka Dot embossing folder.  A piece of Pumpkin Pie die cut with a Starburst framelit provides some contrast, and is topped with designer series paper banners and the stamped images Cycle Celebration set.  Dazzling Details adds some sparkle to the Melon Mambo/Decorative Label Punched piece.  Inside the box is a gusseted bag, tied with Bermuda Bay 1-1/4" Striped Grosgrain.

Which is your favorite?

Catalog Favorites Class!

I had such a fun afternoon with everyone who came to my Catalog Favorites Class!  Thank you, ladies!!!   I thought I'd pop in this evening and share the cards I created for this class, which are all taken straight from the pages of the 2014-15 Stampin' Up!  Annual Catalog.

First, from page 56, here's the "Happiest Birthday" card:

I didn't have Island Indigo ink refill to use on my flower, so ended up changing that to Blackberry Bliss, and I really like how that turned out!  How about you?  Here's a close up:

Supplies for this card are:
Stamps:  Apothecary Art, Dictionary (background stamp, used on the banner)
Ink:  Encore Gold, Blackberry Bliss, Calypso Coral and Old Olive refills
Paper:  Calypso Coral, Brushed Gold, Shimmery White, White Filter Paper
Accessories:  Label Collection Dies, Fancy Fan Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Bitty Banner Framelits, Very Vanilla Seam Binding (dyed with Calypso Coral refill . . . or could use Calypso Coral Seam Binding), Flower Frenzy Bigz Die, Mini Brad (inked with Encore Gold)

The next choice is this "it's a cupcake kind of day" card from page 58:

Stamps:  Cupcake Party
Ink:  Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay
Paper:  Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay, and Whisper White
Accessories:  Cupcake Punch, Dazzling Details

My friends stepped this up by mixing and matching the cupcake colors and adding a cherry to one of the cupcakes.

The third choice is this "happy birthday" card from page 67:

And, a closer look at the flowers:

Stamps:  Flower Shop, Something to Say (the catalog sample used a stamp from the And Many More set)
Ink:  Baked Brown Sugar, Crisp Cantaloupe and Coastal Cabana
Paper:  Soft Sky, Baked Brown Sugar, Whisper White, White Filter Paper, and Typeset Designer Series Paper (the sample in the catalog might use the Dictionary Background stamp in Baked Brown Sugar on Whisper White instead)
Accessories: Pansy Punch, Crochet Trim, Linen Thread, Subtles Candy Dots, and Gold Stampin' Glitter

The fourth choice is this "hey there" card from page 109:

Stamps:  Just Sayin'
Ink:  Crushed Curry
Paper:  Smokey Slate, Basic Gray, Crushed Curry, Strawberry Slush, Vellum, Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper
Accessories:  Word Bubbles Framelits, Project Life Corner Rounder Punch, Neutrals Dots, Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack, Arrows Textured Impressions Embossing Folder

And, last but not least, is this star shaped birthday card from page 135:

Stamps:  Memorable Moments, Chevron Folder (used for stamping)
Ink:  Hello Honey, Old Olive
Paper:  Hello Honey, Whisper White, Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper (and where I used the Chevron Folder, the sample in the catalog had used the 2014-16 In Color DSP)
Accessories:  Regals Buttons (again a switch from the Subtles button used in the Catalog), Linen Thread, Star Framelits, and Itty Bitty Banner Framelits

Which are your favorites in this bunch?  Which other cards from the Catalog would you like to see in a "Favorites" class?  Would love to hear your thoughts on this!

Marlene's Hamburger Box Die Cat

Yep!  The title of this post is not a typo!  My amazing friend Marlene really created a cat out of the new Hamburger Box die!  This is another of her creations from our swap a little while back, and I just think it is so clever!  I can see making other kinds of animals out of this die, too.  Can't you?

And, this kitty had some yummy treats inside -- chocolate covered strawberries!!!
