I had so much fun making these rolled rose wreaths at Christmas time, that I decided to use a similar technique to make a heart-shaped wreath for Valentine's day. I started by using the Spiral Flowers die to make roses in Very Vanilla, Rose Red, and Blushing Bride (made a few in Pink Pirouette, too, but the Blushing Bride turned out to be my favorite with the two other colors). Here's a box full of finished roses (creating these was a fun project to keep my hands busy while watching the latest episode of Downton Abbey! That's my kind of multi-tasking! ;) ):
Then, I used a frame cut with the retired Hearts Framelits as a base for my heart wreath:
The leaves were made from Always Artichoke card stock, punched with the Festive Flower Builder Punch, then with the leaf image from the Reason for the Season set stamped in Mossy Meadow. I added a bit of the Venetian Crochet Trim for a hanger.
What do you think? Do you like this color combo? I think a single color wreath would be pretty, too! How about you?
Thanks so much for visiting!
