I had fun creating these Valentine heart boxes, which I filled with some heart-shaped easel note cards for some special friends last month:
I used the Heart Framelits along with the Hearts a Flutter Framelits to create the shapes. The paper for the top two is from More Amore, and the bottom is Tea for Two. The flower trim made quick and easy embellishments for the boxes, and was easy to dye to match (I sponged the roses with Baja Breeze to coordinate with the More Amore paper in the top two samples). The pleated satin ribbon is retired, but has been available on the Clearance Rack recently.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

LOVE LOVE LOVE the boxes! How did you make the sides? Would love to see a side picture! Might try my craftiness at these sometimes :-)

Thanks so much, Renate! The sides are made with a strip of paper, 1-1/2 inches in width. I scored that at 1/2 inch, then added sticky strip to the 1/2 inch side (as opposed to the 1" part, which will become the side of the box). Remove the red liner from the sticky strip and snip through it from the edge of the card stock to the fold, about every 1/4" or so. Then, adhere to the box lid. The top should be attached slightly closer to the outside of the box than when you repeat the process to create the edge for the bottom of the box. Hopefully that makes sense. Will try to get a tutorial with video or photos for this soon.
Hugs,
Michelle
