SUper Friends May Swap Cards

Hi there!  Hope you are having a beautiful day!  Today, I have another set of fabulous cards from my SUper Friends to share with you.  We met a couple weeks ago, and actually are preparing to meet again this week! We didn't have a particular theme last month -- just all tried to create cards with either new products or new ideas with current products.

Agnes created this gorgeous card, using the Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper from the Occasions Mini, and I love how she fussy-cut some of the flowers from the paper and added those with Silver Glimmer brads, as 3D embellishments to the card.  She also added mini silver brads to the paper.

Jana's beautiful card brilliantly shows off both the new In Colors and the new Work of Art stamp set:

Love the luxurious Lost Lagoon Stitched Satin Ribbon, too!

Liz met with our group for the first time, and brought this awesome card, in which she puts the stencils from the Build a Banner Simply Created Kit to clever use:

The Baker's Twine, banners, and glimmer heart (using the Owl Punch) add the perfect finishing touches! You can see more of Liz's beautiful artwork on her blog http://www.stampersbliss.com/

My swap card used Bloom with Hope and Blendabilities (again!  Just can't seem to put these down!!!)

I also used the Blendabilities to color a Vintage Faceted Designer Button to embellish the card:

Hope you enjoyed these samples!  Thanks for visiting!

Great Sport Soccer Thank Yous

Happy Friday!  A quick post today with a thank you card I created for my youngest son's soccer coach last fall (and hadn't gotten around to posting before now!)  It's about time to create a thank you for his league's referee appreciation day and for his coaches this year.  Hoping this will help inspire me -- and you, if you need to create some sporty thank yous, too!  Anyway, here's the card:

Supplies used:

Stamps:  Great Sport, Perfectly Penned
Ink:  Basic Black
Paper:  Bashful Blue, Whisper White, and Brushed Silver Cardstock
Accessories:  1-1/4" Circle Punch, Bitty Banner Framelits.

Thanks for stopping by!

Afternoon Daydreamin'

I've been quiet the past week because I've been hard at work finishing up a big project (well, and preparing for a fun event I had this weekend . . . but, more on that in an upcoming post!)  I recently created 40 cards using half of an Afternoon Daydream Simply Scrappin' Kit (it's on the retiring list, so only available while supplies last now).  Here are the cards I made, in sets of 10:

And, here are some close ups of some of my favorite cards:

Stamp sets used:  Everything Eleanor, Perfectly Penned, Oh Hello, Made for You, Papaya Collage, and Apothecary Accents
Paper:  Afternoon Daydream Simply Scrappin' Kit, Whisper White Card Stock
Ink:  Basic Gray, More Mustard, Pool Party, and Primrose Petals Classic Ink
Accessories:  Labels Framelits, Floral Frames Framelits, Ovals Collection Framelits, Curly Label Punch, Elegant Butterfly Punch, Bitty Butterfly Punch, Basic Rhinestone Jewels

If you'd like to create some of these, I have a limited number of kits available (for U.S. only, and stamped images not included).  Please contact me for more information.

Fall Fun at the Farm

Today, I was able to head to a local farm with my almost 7-year-old and his class, and we had a wonderful time.  We had fun walking through the garden and having a tasting picnic, where we had freshly picked arugula, pomegranate seeds, carrots, tomatoes, nasturtium, and apples.  Then, we were off to see the farm animals -- sheep, pigs, cows, and chickens -- even got to see some adorable piglets and chicks.  It had rained in the morning, but it was perfectly sunny for our walk around the farm.  The highlight for the kids was choosing pumpkins to take home.  Perfect fall fun!  Here are some photos from our adventure:

I also have a card to share with you that kind of goes along with our day of fall fun at the farm.  It's a variation on the cards I posted yesterday.  I decided to try the same layout as before, just substituting Crumb Cake card stock in place of Whisper White for the base and layer.  Here's how that turned out:

Thanks so much for visiting my blog!

CAS Fall Thank You Cards

Here are a couple of clean-and-simple-style thank you notes I recently created, inspired by a beautiful card by Lisa Dolson, who was one of the winners of Stampin' Up!'s October demonstrator art contest.

These cards are made using Stampin' Up!'s Note Cards & Envelopes for the base.  I added a 4.75" x 3-1/4" layer of Whisper White, from which I die cut the window using one of the Labels Framelits.  I tried two different embossing folders for dressing up the window layer.  The first is the Chevron Folder:

And, second, I tried the Woodgrain Folder (from the Holiday Catalog):

Which do you like best?  It's a close call, but I think the Woodgrain is my favorite.

The leaves are two-step stamped images from the Gently Falling stamp set.  I used the Rock n Roll technique for the solid image.  (Summer Starfruit and Old Olive ink for the smallest leaf, More Mustard and Cajun Craze for the maple leaf, and Lucky Limeade with Island Indigo for the oak leaf.)  The outline of the leaves is Soft Suede.

The "thank you" image is from the Perfectly Penned stamp set, and is stamped in Soft Suede ink.

Need for Speed Birthday Card

Here's a fun card I recently created for one of my 9-year-old son's friends:

I started with a Real Red card stock base.  Then, I added a layer of Real Red, embossed in the Chevron Embossing folder, which had been inked up with Basic Black ink.  I think it creates a kind of tire-tread-like effect, don't you?

The car is from the Need for Speed Stamp Set, and the "Happy Birthday" from the Perfectly Penned Stamp Set.  Those were stamped in Basic Black on Very Vanilla.  The Very Vanilla is framed with a layer of Basic Black Card Stock, and I added a piece of Basic Black, punched with the Petite Pennant Punch on the side.  The pennant was stamped with an image from the Pennant Parade stamp set, using the Illuminate Glimmer Watermark Stampin' Pad.  I also used Illuminate ink with the So Many Stars Builder Wheel to add some stars in the background of the Very Vanilla piece.
