SUper Friends February Gathering - Shoebox Swap Cards

Hi!  Hope you are having a great Saturday!  Thought I would follow up yesterday's Fabulous Friends Friday with a special SUper Friends Saturday post!  Last weekend, we had our February SUper Friends gathering, and at that we created four different cards in a "shoebox swap."  That meant that supplies for each of those cards were cut, embossed, and otherwise prepped enough in advance that with a little stamping and adhering, the card could be assembled in about fifteen minutes or less.

Agnes prepared our first project, which was a marvelous combination of the Butterfly Gala Bundle with the Layered Leaves Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper (die cut with a Stitched Circle Framelit), and a bit of Calypso Coral Organdy Ribbon (both the Botanical Butterfly and Organdy Ribbon are Sale-a-Bration choices!)   Here is a photo of the card I put together:

However, as I was photographing it, I realized I still needed to put the finishing touches Agnes had suggested on it, and so did that, and here's a photo of how that turned out (additions are the gold Metallic Pearls for the butterfly bodies and greeting, which is from the Beauty Abounds set, stamped in Calypso Coral on a scrap of Whisper White I had left from one of my card designs):

Kallien prepared this gorgeous, faux-stained-glass-technique card, using the All That You Are Stamp Set and Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper.  The pieces were die cut with the Rectangle Stitched Framelits and Stitched Labels (greeting).   We embossed the flower image with White Embossing Powder onto vellum, then colored on the the back side of the vellum with Highland Heather, Old Olive, and Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends

For finishing touches, we added some Old Olive Linen Thread and Pearl Jewels (colored with Stampin' Blends).

The next project we created using the Hello Cupcake stamp set from Sale-a-Bration and the coordinating Call Me Cupcake Framelits dies (available starting today, for a limited time only!).  This project was inspired by this fun and eyecatching card by Tammy at Stampin' Savvy, discovered on Pinterest, and changed up a bit (added tone on tone stamping on card front, used Champagne Foil for the cupcake platter, stamped the greeting on the vellum window, used the Granny Apple Green side of the Reversible Ribbon, and added a sprinkling of the sweet flowers from the Hello Cupcake stamp set on the vellum and inside of the card):

For our last project, I designed this card, using the Country Floral Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (Sale-a-Bration Second Release item, available now, for a limited time), which we inked up with Whisper White Craft Ink, direct to paper, to create a Wedgewood-looking effect on the embossed image.  I also colored some of my flower centers with a Daffodil Delight Watercolor Pencil.  The stamped images are from the Fable Friends stamp set.  The bunny, grass, and sky are colored with Watercolor Pencils, on an oval cut with the Stitched Shapes Framelits.  The greeting is on a strip of Whisper White, shaped on one end with the new Story Label Punch (available as part of the Sale-a-Bration Coordination items, for a limited time).  There is also a strip of Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper and a bow of the Balmy Blue Organdy Ribbon (Sale-a-Bration)

These were so much fun to make!  We're doing a second round of Shoebox projects at this month's gathering.  If you would like to join my SUper Friends group, please contact me for more information about how to do that!

Thanks for visiting my blog!
