Hope everyone had a safe and happy 4th of July! I started a card yesterday, inspired by the holiday, as well as the current Global Design Project challenge #452, and a video on watercoloring with the Pearlized Enamel Effects that I watched yesterday by Alisa Tilsner.
The Global Design Project Challenge is a fun CASE the designer challenge, and I love Rose Marie Coleman's sample so much! It is a split front card, and I decided to make one like her, but to try adding a third panel to the split front technique and see how it would look!
Here's how my card turned out:
I created the panel behind the card front first with a wash of the leftover Pearlized Enamel and Blueberry Bliss from painting the blueberries. Then, I decided to experiment with applying dots and stripes of the White and Red Pearlized Enamel Effects to a clear block and stamping that onto my dried watercolor wash.
Then, I added some more watercolored blueberries inside the card and on the envelope.
The blueberries and leaves have really pretty shimmer in real life, as does my "art panel" -- I took a little video to try to capture that better for you!
